Happy Birthday Momma

Happy Birthday to my sweet Momma!

This picture was taken last Easter, we also celebrated her birthday.

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think of you!  There are many days, when I am feeling overwhelmed and things aren't going right, that I cry for you.  I sooooo wish that you could see and hold this beautiful baby boy that lights up our lives everyday!  I wish that Clete could sit in your lap so that he could read you  a book instead of you reading to him!  He is so smart, he can just about read anything that you give him now!!  I wish that you could see the handsome young men that Britt and Jackson have grown into!  Most of all, I wish that you were here!  It is pretty lonely without you!  My faith tells me that you are in a much better place than this place where we are,  but I am a selfish human being that would love to have her mother here with her!  The only difference being that you would be the happy, healthy and vibrant person that you were before you got sick.  We all miss and love you very much Momma!
Happy Birthday!

Going to work with Daddy

This morning Clete surprised me a little when he came out of his room at 6:30 AM, fully dressed!  I asked him why he had put jeans on, thinking he must have been cold or something.  He said to me, "I' gotta go to work, can you help me buckle my belt?"  Again, I just thought, well he's playing around or something.  The next thing I know, Clete is in the bathroom brushing his teeth!  I knew something was up at this point because Clete is one of those kids that has to be reminded DAILY to brush his teeth and then argues with me about it!  Dale was still asleep while all this was going on, so I decided to wake him up and find out if he had told Clete that he could go to work with him today.  Sure enough, Dale said that he HAD told Clete that, I was just surprised because neither of them had told me about their plan.  When taking a closer look at Clete, I then realized that he was dressed JUST LIKE Dale!  He even hooked Dale's keys to his belt loop the way that Dale always does!  Check him out:
When Clete was all done getting ready, Dale was still napping on the couch.  Clete went over to the table, picked up Dale's cell phone, carried to the couch then shoved it right in Dale's face and said, "Daddy! Do you see what time it is?  We are late for work!"  I almost cried I laughed so hard!  Anyway here are the pair, all ready to go to work!

What an imagination!

Last night, while I was putting away laundry(a task that I feel takes up about 75% of my time), Dale told me to come look at what the kids were doing.  This is what I found in the living room:

When I asked Clete what they were doing, he replied: "We're riding in my speed boat to Chuck's to get a pizza and 2 Dr. Peppers!"

That kid LOVES a fast boat! Very much UNLIKE his Momma!!
