It's About Time!!

In 2005 the Opelika Dixie Youth 11 and 12 year old all-stars won the Alabama State Championship. Britt was on that team!! This was an incredible accomplishment for this group of boys, there had been no team before them to accomplish the same and has not been a team since. Britt's team is the only Opelika Dixie Youth team to hold the honor of state champs!

Winning the state championship meant that they would play in the Dixie Youth World Series! That year the World Series was held in Auburn so we didn't have to travel very far.

It has taken 4 years, but the boys finally have received the recognition that they deserve. This morning, at Westridge Park, a ceremony was held to recognize the boys achievement with a commemorative sign. This is an awesome tribute, their names will be seen and recognized by kids for years to come.
It is so hard to believe that the same group of 12 years olds are now handsome young men! I remember that summer very fondly. That was the summer that we got pregnant and actually stayed pregnant with Clete, even though we lost his twin. That summer was definitely a summer of baseball. The state tournament was held in Dothan and let me tell you it was HOT!! Pregnant and all I made it through the days!! It is hard to believe that the little bump in my belly is now a beautiful 3 year old little boy that is the center of all our worlds!
We love you Britt and are still so very proud of you! Keep your head up and grow to be the man we all know that you can be!

Beautiful Little Angels

Today Clete's class had their end of the year program at First Baptist of Opelika. Clete goes to preschool(Bright Beginnings)there. If there is one thing in the world that brings tears to my eyes, it's little children singing. It is even worse when one of the children is my own! They sound like little angels, singing their little songs and doing their little motions. Clete has 3 songs that are his favorites, he has been running around the house singing them for 2 weeks. It was great to see him with the other children putting it all together.

After the program, the kids and parents all went down for refreshments. The chocolate chip cookies and punch were delicious. It was a great day, it makes me kind of sad though to see how fast time is flying by! It just seems like yesterday that we brought him home. Daddy and I love you very much, Clete!! Our lives are truly blessed with you in them!

Mother's Day

This Sunday is Mothers Day! I wanted to do something a little different this year. I wanted to pay tribute to the reasons I am a mother, my kids! Without them I wouldn't be a mother. Here are a few photos I put together, some old and some new. Britt, Jackson and Clete, I love you and am so very proud that God blessed me with you guys! To my Babies in Heaven, I love you and you will always be remembered!

Way to go Jackson!

Today Jackson participated in the Hit-A-Thon to raise money for the Miracle Field. Jackson raised $73.00, which is a lot for an 11 year old. For those of you who don't know, the Miracle Field was built to serve children with disabilities so that they could play baseball. As all of you know baseball is a HUGE part of our lives. All our boys either have been playing since they could walk or will be playing soon. Jackson is a great kid, you won't find too many children his age with a heart as big as his. He loves his brothers with all his heart and loves to be with them. Clete worships him! Jackson and Clete have a very special relationship, it has been that way from the day Clete was born. All Jackson wanted to do was hold him and take care of him. Some parents have to deal with jealousy issues when a new baby arrives in the family, especially if their kids are as spoiled rotten as ours are, but we didn't have to deal with it at all! Jackson is soooo special to us, he has brought us such joy! Jackson pretty much eats, sleeps and breathes baseball, he has all his life. Our family is so close and the one thing that we definitely love to do together is go to the ball field, especially if it is one of us playing. I have been blessed with the most precious boys and am grateful everyday for what I have. I am the only female in the house and my guys certainly spoil me rotten as well. Maybe one day God will bless us with a little girl, if this comes to pass, I can honestly say that between her Daddy and older brothers she will be the most spoiled rotten thing you will ever lay eyes on. The child probably won't learn to walk until she is 5, her feet will very seldom hit the ground! Of course this means that I won't be quite as spoiled anymore but, that's okay! Our children are awesome, each in his own way and Jackson's love and compassion for others is unbelievable. He will make someone a great husband and father someday. We love you Jackson!!!
