Our Anniversary

Tomorrow, March 31, 2009, is our anniversary! The years keep flying by it seems. I can't believe that Jackson was Clete's age when we married, he was only 14 months old when we began dating! Jackson is now about to have his 11th birthday. Britt has grown up into a wonderful and handsome young man. Our little blessing, Clete, well there just are no words good enough to describe that beautiful angel! We have been so blessed in our life together. We have gone through some pretty hard times too, they have only made us stronger. I am so fortunate to be married to my BEST friend, sometimes we fight like cats and dogs, but at the end of the day it's Dale and I against the world! Dale is the love of my life and I don't know what I would do without him. He is the best dad, the best husband and the best friend I could ever hope for. I hope that the years to come are just as great as what we have had thus far. I love you Grumpy!!! With ALL my HEART!!!

Our Angels

In my last post, I wrote about Clete catching his 1st fish. I wanted to go a little deeper into this story because it touched my heart so much. After Dale got Clete situated with his little fishin' pole, I began to tell Clete about my fishing experiences when I was little. I told him about how my Grandaddy had bought me a pole just like the one he was using and how he would take me fishing all the time. Clete asked me where my pole was, I told him that I still had it and it was at home. No sooner did these words come out of my mouth did his cork go under water! I can't help but to wonder if Grandaddy was listening and sent him a little fish to catch. I miss my grandparents everyday of my life, not a day goes by that I don't think about them. I wish that Clete could have gotten to know them and been part of their lives like Britt and Jackson did. I do know that when I am down, they lift me up. I have even smelled my Grandaddy!! The smell of Brut!! Anyway, just wanted to put this in words, I can only hope that I am as good a grandparent to my grandchildren as they were to me.

Baseball!!!!

This weekend was filled with activity. Kristen, Britt's girlfriend, came down for the weekend, needless to say Britt was happy! Friday night Jackson had a ballgame, his team won, he also pitched in the game with 2 strikeouts and 1 ground out. Saturday Jackson had opening ceremonies for baseball league and a game. His team won again!! They are currently 3-0! He also pitched again, but I think he had a little stage fright since the entire family was there! That's OK though he will get over that, he is our child that wants to please, please, please, the perfectionist! After the game we went to the lake for Mi Mi Cooks birthday dinner! The food was great and the kids had a wonderful time. Clete had a big night as well, he caught his 1st fish! It was so funny, he went up to Dale and told him "Daddy, I want you to show me how to catch a fish!" Dale grabbed the kids fishing pole and baited it up then threw it out for him. Clete just sat there still as he could be watching his cork to bob. About 2 minutes later it bobbed! Clete reeled the fish in, he was so excited! This weekend was great, this is the 1st of many to come this spring and summer. I took MANY pictures, I will post later, forgot my adaptor.

Rainy Weekend

Well this weekend turned out to be a rain out! Jackson's ballgame was cancelled on Saturday due to the rain. Clete, however, enjoyed a trip to the air show with my niece Tori and her fiance Paul. It was still sprinkling but, they didn't cancel it. Tori and Paul are getting married in May and Clete is going to be the ring bearer. I was just thinking this weekend, and realized that when they tie the knot, I will finally have a nephew!!! So far all I have is nieces, ranging in ages from 2 months to 27 years!! Everyone is so excited about Tori's wedding, right now we are in the middle of getting her shower together and finding clothes for the kids to wear. May will be here before we know it so we are kicking in high gear!!

Busy Boys

Baseball season has officially begun, this weekend was a testament to that. Jackson had ball practice Friday night and Saturday morning. Saturday afternoon it was Opelika High School baseball games. Jackson's first official game is Saturday. Dale's league that he coaches will begin in about 2 weeks. We just kicked back with family the rest of the weekend. I am trying to get as much rest as possible before I pretty much become a single mom for the next few months! I would never complain about it though or ever try to stop it, I know that it makes them happy therefore I am too. Off to the ball field we go!!!

This one is for you Daddy!!!

Last night a friend of Dale's sent a picture of his new baby girl dressed in a precious pink onesie with an "A" (BAMA)monogrammed on it. Dale fell in love with this picture! This of course brought up our "discussion" that we frequently have about Clete being an Alabama fan like his Daddy. Dale is convinced that everyone is trying to convert Clete to be an Auburn fan, like his 2 older brothers. I have tried to explain that this is not the case, but he is still convinced. I decided this morning to make Dales day a little brighter and try to reassure him that at least one of his sons would be a BAMA fan! I dressed Clete in his BAMA jersey, when Clete saw it laid out, the first thing he said was " My BAMA jersey! Touchdown Alabama!". After he was dressed he ran to the back where Dale was brushing his teeth and said "ROLLTIDE DADDY!" So this is for you Daddy!

My Snow Angel!!

This weekend turned our to be absolutely wonderful! Despite a scary start on Saturday morning, Sunday was awesome! Clete had a wonderful time in the snow. I think we wound up with about 6 inches altogether. He and Dale played in the snow and made a snowman. It was great! We went out twice, once around 10 AM then again after lunch and nap around 4:30 PM. We loved it and had so much fun!
